Home needs a new file which will be offered to you for download to allow you to operate your go.
This problem seems to happen every time TomTom release a new Home or a new operating system. Last I heard they still hadn't actually released the new file you need, BUT they WILL in the fullness of time - so keep connecting to Home and trying to operate your go and eventually Home will download you a nice new file to make it all work again (I actually saw somewhere that it had been released a couple of days ago, so try again now).
Whilst I'm here, I might as well pass on the backup advice - back up your TomTom using Windows Explorer, not Home. See TomTom FAQs, number 1. _________________ Dennis

If you were referring to the dll for the x40 models, then it started to be downloadable a few days ago |

thanks
i have the 530
so this is normal also looked at the faqs .. nice one .
yea my 530 is backed up fully and burned to a disc also backed up the 815 maps
it is a bit odd that the map updated would cause this fatal error . i even downloaded the home seperate from tomtom last night still did not sort it ..
one thing when the first time this happened i had to reset my tomtom .. odd not done that since |

Yet another Wierdy !
Connected my 940 to Home.
Offered me TTCamera updates and QuickFix.
Downloaded and installed them.
Then offered me the "needed file". At long last - Hurrah!
Downloaded and installed it.
Operated my 940 from Home to be greeted with a message to the effect that "This file was purchased for a different device to the one you are using. TT Cameras disabled" ! (Can't recall the exact wording.)
The only time I had purchased TTCameras was for the original Classic Go many years ago. Have since gone through a 700, 920T and now 940.
Checked my Services on the 940 and they're still showing as valid.
When are Home and Accounts going to learn to work together?

Exactly the same problem. "Customer Services" had me back up my device, delete files, reinstall the application software and generally mess about with my new 540. Nevertheless, the problem remains and I have wasted another hour of my life! |

Well I didn't have any problems with it.
I just ignored the message as my TTServices said they were still active.
Also just come back from a local run to test them and sure enough they ARE working.
Incidentally, I only have them on to compare them against our favourite - the PGPSW cameras.

My services are all working. It is just when connected to TomTom Home that the error message is displayed. |

From what I can see it is because the emulation for the x40 in Home emulates a Dutch SIM. My assumption is that it thinks you are trying to run the Dutch version in the UK and does not allow it.
If when running the Go standalone, ie not connected to Home, you click on the satellite bars, then on the little version number box that appears, then the network button, the look at the SIM ID. It should start 8944xxx.
Repeat this using "Operate my Go" in Home and you will see a SIM ID starting 8931xx which is Dutch.
I wonder if when you first operate your unit and you do it from within Home rather than standalone and you set up your free 3 month trial, it thinks your trial is in the Netherlands as you have a 31 SIM, so when you try to use it standalone in the UK, it thinks your trial is Dutch and for a different unit and does not let you access it in the UK. Only an idea which I cannot test out, but it could explain the problems a few people had when they first got their units. |

I doubt it because although yes I do have a Standalone Sim of 44 (UK) and a Home Sim of 31 (Dutch) this has only happened since installing the last OS update (8.204(9718)) and the subsequent "needed file".
