Hope this isn't a repost but ive searched and cant find any onther mention.. .After upgrading to 8.300 the option to type in your own spoken warning for the offical camera alerts has gone. It's present for other POI's but not the cameras. I have got a computer voice selected. Anyone else seen this?.

A few people have reported this, try resetting the device with a paperclip and then see if the option comes back - Mike

It's a Go 720, using Simon (version 691). Have tried with Kate (ver 693) as well and reinstalled both but no change... very frustrating. Surely they haven't removed it as a feature...

Is this for the Speed cameras from this site of the TomTom Safety camera database.

I have just loaded this software release to my 720 and I still get the option for using your own POI warning. The only way I can replicate the loss of this option is to go to Change Preferences/ Voice Preferences/ Speech Preferences and make sure that Read aloud POI warnings is not selected. Have a look at this option on your device and try enabling the option then setting up a POI warning again - Mike
