Just tried connecting my HTC TyTn2 (Vodafone 1615) to my new 540 without success. Have had it connected to my previous 720 for some time now (albeit with the usual problems) but the 540 just doesn't want to know.

When I checked the phone compatability list on the TT site it seems everything up to and including the x30 series is compatable except for the new x40s.

Shouldn't be surprised really, I guess this is fairly typical of progress in the TT world! Confused

Mike, the 540 is just not 'seeing' the HTC at all. I have paired from the phone to the TT using bluetooth i.e the phone recognises the satnav but there is no connection of any type in so far as the 540 refuses to recognise the HTC even when I reverse the process and search from the 540.

I still have the .cab file on the phone that you sent me previously to enable it to pair with my 720 so I am not sure what the problem would be. The Traffic via GPRS has been working OK for many months but of course I dont need that on the 540 due the HD traffic. All I want is the hands free phone compatability

I have no problems in pairing HTC from the 530 or 940. I always do the pairing from the Go.

A few pointers:

Are you sure you do not have the maximum number of devices paired already with the phone (8?)?

The phones bluetooth visibility is set to on or show?

You are using the pascode 0000 if asked for?

HTC phones as standard do not appear to come with Bluetooth DUN (dial-up networking) installed as standard and I would have only thought that you would have needed this to make a GPRS connection through the phone which you do not need to do with the Gox40 range. If for some odd reason you do need DUN to link the units, try and search for WM6_DUN.zip or WM6_BT_DUN.cab or a variation on these files.

Have you made your HTC Tytn2's bluetooth discoverable?

Go to the Comm Manager program, press 'Settings' on the right softkey. You should get a small menu, Phone Bluetooth & WirelessLAN. Click on Bluetooth. You should now get the Bluetooth settings, click on the 'Mode' tab.

You should see two boxes, one says 'Turn on Bluetooth'
The other 'Make device visible to other devices', this one should be activated.

This should make your TytnII now visible to your TomTom.

Thanks for the feedback. Answer to all of the above = yes and I do have the DUN file since this is what Mike sent me for my 720 previously.

Aha! - thanks sdclark - I was typing this as you responded.

Problem sorted - it seems the 'make device visible' box had become unticked.

Many thanks - what would we do without these forums Very Happy
