You will probably need the .postal file

Depending on what your free map was, if it was in the UK or Netherlands it will work with the files contained in here...

http://www.tomtom.com/updates/zipcodes/map7/wezipcodes715.zip

Extract the files in the Zip to a folder called Zip on your MicroSD card.

Good Luck

Using File Explorer on the PDA go to your storage card and create a folder called "zip" - put the postcode files from the download link provided by mpwilson99 into the folder named "zip and you will have full postcode search capability - Mike

I had similar problem, the files in zip folder fixed, however did not work immediately as when I extracted zip folder to the Root directory, winzip created a zip folder within the zip folder !!

Bottom Line :- Just make sure you only have one zip folder in the root directory of your sd card, and that the two .ver files and the two .postal files are inside !!

Mine worked .... Good Luck

I am not too sure the city maps do support postcode search, although you might want to try moving the zip folder and its contents to the device memory where the TomTom folder is, this will consume around 10MB of memory on your phone though, but it might cure the issue unless as I suspect the map cannot deal with postcodes - Mike
