Going from i3 to 255WT should I uninstall Garmin Software

I am changeing from an I3 to a 255WT, should I uninstall all the old Garmin software or just leave it. I will not be using the I3 anymore as it has become unreliable unfortunaty.

do you mean from your computer?

you can remove the garmin gstart drivers as these are not needed for newer devices. the newer units act as 'removable drives' so no additional software is needed in that sense.

the same poi loader software is used for both though so keep that.

ditto for web updater - it will just search for software etc for the new device

UPDATE: Got the 255WT, registered it on the Garmin Website, connected it to the PC, it updated the 255WT to software 4.6, told I was entitled to the 2009 maps, downloaded them, then installed them, all working fine
