|

Hi all - I've been messing about with GPS and my laptop for over a year now but recently acquired an O2 XDA. I found that PC-Mobile in Hong Kong made cables to connect the Earthmate to the XDA so I ordered the appropriate cables/connections.
Upon receinving the parts I was unable to get the GPS software (TomTom Navigator 2) to see the GPS device. The problem starts with TomToms GPS set-up proggy because the only DeLorme product listed is the Tripmate (which is a serial device). I'm unsure what manual settings to use or port it is supposed to be plugged in to.
My questions are:
Has anyone got any experience running an Earthmate USB on an XDA?
Can anyone suggest another device setup tool (one that might have my device listed)?
What port should it be connecting to?
Please help because I have started a new job that see's me travelling all over the place and I'd love to track myself so I can post it on GPSDrawing.com.
Thanks in advance

If you have not used XDA for GPS before, make sure that IR beam receive is disabled.
Settings>connections>Beam and uncheck IR receive box.
Configure Tom Tom to use Tom Tom GPS or NMEA and com 1 and that should be it. _________________ Pc-Mobile

Sorry but I didn't get any PDA software with my Earthmate. Since SA is from DeLorme and it's bundled witht eh Earthmate (USB I presume) I'm surprised it doesn't include a setup option with the appropriate settings as default.
