Hi,
Has any body managed to get their Tytn II (MDA Vario III) to work for traffic data.
I've managed to pair my 730 and TytnII for hands free, but I'm sure I've seen someone has paired them for data as well. I've searched the forum but not found anything to help. I know it's not supposed to be compatible, but we all know TomTom's not the best at checking!
I'm on T-Mobile web'n walk buy the way.
Cheers

The TomTom requires the DUN BT profile to use the phone for a data connection, if you are running WM6 on the phone download and install the DUN profile CAB file from Here and you should find the device will supply the data to your TomTom.
Best option once you have the file on the phone and the configuration sorted out is to use the Weather check or buddies function to ensure the connection is actually working BEFORE subscribing to any of the pay services such as Traffic Information - Mike |

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the swift reply, however I've already installed the DUN Cab file (from XDA), and I still can't get it to work, unless of course I'm doing something else wrong?

When you installed the CAB file you should press and hold the power button until the phone asks about powering off with some stupid warning about loosing data, press Yes at this point to re-boot the device - if you used the manual reset button it might not have saved the settings - Mike |

Thanks Mike,
I think I'd better reinstall the CAB file just to make sure I've done it correctly. I'll let you know how it goes.

Hi Mike,
Sorry for the delay in replying, but I spent most of yesterday evening pulling my hair (or what's left of it) out trying to get the phone to recognise that there's a data connection.
I can get the phone to see the TomTom, and the TomTom to see the phone, but it will still only see a "hands free" function.
I've reloaded the DUN again and again, resetting using the power on-off as you suggested. When the phone recognises a hands free facility, the TomTom carries on to check for a data connection, but I get a "failed to find a data connection" message on the TomTom every time.
I'm beginning to think my love affair with the Tytn II is shortly going to come to very unhappy end!!
