The battery in my F20 is jiggered and only holds a charge for about 10 minutes now.
I have seen replacement batteries for sale on a certain online auction site at a very reasonable price.
But I wondered how complicated it is to install a new battery.
Is it something that an idiot ( me ) would be able to do easily ?
Any help would be appreciated !

Looks like I'm going to have to chuck my F20 away and buy a new Nav.
Should I stay with Navman or get me a TomTom XL ?

Remove the two screws located in the base the two halves of the case (front and rear) can then be prised apart with either a very strong thumb nail or blunt knife (with caution), then you can locate the battery - Mike

Given Navmans history of support, map updates and the extortionate charges when and if the eventually bother to make them availble, and the takeover by Mitac meaning Navman is now, to all purposes a brand name,
I personally would go Tomtom or Garmin.

Thank you Mike for the information.
I think I am going to buy a battery and give it a go.

For everything that people say about Navman , I have been very happy with my F20 and if I can get another year out of it I will be well chuffed.

I love that screen on F20 -- the best looking touch screen on any navigation device I've seen. I got F20 for my father and it still amazes me whenever I see it.

Your F20 should still be under warranty so the battery can be replaced Free of charge.

But if too late get a cheap SD card and put the end in the slot and twist in a clockwise direction to avoid snapping the USB port off the main board.

Also when putting back together remove the grey sticker and remove the Micro SC cover and make sure the speaker wire is not trapped behind this and the can cut the wires, leaving no voice.
