How do I back up my data?

Help. My 765T threw a wobbly - a kind of full reset - and lost all my data: favourites, mileage reports, etc. Looking at the unit using Windows I could see the mileage report (in CSV format) but nothing else that I recognised. For my future reference where is all my personal data stored on the Garmin, can I separately back it up to my computer, and how? Any assistance gratefully received.

Your favorites, routes, etc, are stored in the current.gpx file in the (x):/Garmin/GPX directory.
