Hi all, I have just treated myself to a new TT-Go520 as I was looking for something that did all I wanted it to do without having two seperate devices.
I had thought of the new Go530 but having read up on things on here -went for the 520.

Anyways Rolling Eyes .....I have been reading up on setting up the gpsw speed cams on it and have got a bit confused on where to put the files. In the TTfolder its got map with the GB map in there, or another folder with GB on it which has got quite a few files in there. Could someone please tell me which is the right one. Also, if I wanted some voice warnings , would these go into the same place?

Any advice guidance / appreciated....thank you

I'm afraid I have a 720 with Europe maps on so I can't tell you the exact names, but it would really help if YOU tell us what the folders you've got are actually called!

I would have thought you should only have ONE folder with a name something like "Great_Britain_and_Ireland" - that will be the one you want.

Alternatively, work backwards... find the folder with "MapSettings.cfg" or "poi.dat" - that will be the one you want too!

For my own interest, do please report back with the EXACT folder names you have.

For voice warnings, follow the instructions at the bottom of the download page HERE
They should tell you everything you need to know.

As requested, opened up TT via the icon in my comp,

File 1) Map-----opened--- contained- United kingdom and republic of ireland.

TLV 2kb

File/folder 2-- opened ) united kingdom and republic of ireland-size 162mb
files: clinc.dat- cname.dat- cnode.dat etc

looking at both, I should think its the second one in hindsight..

So you have a folder called "Map"
and a folder called "united kingdom and republic of ireland" (capitals?)

From what you say, the second one is DEFINITELY the folder where your POI files go (including the PGPSWorld speed ameras and the sound files).

That should set you on the right track.

Interesting (well, probably only to me!) that you have the other folder with the single .tlv file in it.
I have the same (it's actually called "maps" on my machine), but not many other people seem to have it....

All that .tlv file seems to do is tell Home what advertising to spout, if you open it in a text editor it says stuff like
Quote:
"With this map you can navigate door-to-door anywhere in 25 countries across Western & Central Europe. The following countries are included: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark....."

Just a reminder to make sure you have a back up of your sat nav as the software can be easily corrupted !! its best to back it up in explorer as Tomtom Home can be unreliable .I would do this before you do anything else

Also when you disconnect your device always make sure you use the disconnect tab in Tomtom home and wait until the device asks you again if you want to connect to the computer and select no

Hi all, sorry I couldnt reply before, got dragged shopping, back in work tomorrow. Rolling Eyes

Anyways:) Got the files into the right folder with the ogg files from here and ........it all works, brilliant, now I have everything I wanted three years ago in one decent unit. I will have to change the distance on the warnings though, especially on the 70`s, 300yds is too short methinks.

Right , anyone interested in a Garmin nuvi 360 or a Mio C510? reasonable price to a good home.

I am now quite happy to change my sig..

I just use the "times ten" rule theses days, for fixed installations if the speed for the camera is 30MPH set 300 YDS, if its 50MPH use 500 YDS for 70MPH use 700 YDS, for mobile cameras I add 50% to the above values - Mike
