Seems to have addressed all of the problems noted with the previous 4.x updates. IMO, expect lifetime traffic offering within days if no issues with the firmware.

It is for us in the UK. Not so for other countries, though, I believe.

Although this may be an enhancement for them so it is.

Paul, what is the "phone bug" you're referring to? And yes, you lucky Brits, your traffic is lifetime. Not so in North America, not sure about some of the other Europeans or Australia.

Ah didn't see gatorguy6996's location before.

Phone Home Bug - Set your home location, edit it and enter a phone number. Then Press Phone and hit Phone Home and it'll dial your home phone number. Switch the unit offf and on, next time you use Phone Home it'll only dial the first 10 digits of any number you had stored. Bummer if, like me, your Home Phone Number is 11 digits long.

Garmin have admited (finally) the bug is there but no fix yet.

So far today the unit seems great. Still al litle slow to start up, but much better.

You're correct Paul. The update didn't address that issue, present long before the ill-tested 4.0/4.1 updates. But it looks like they may have fixed the currency converter. Rolling Eyes Go figure.

Interesting Confused . I have a Nuvi 770 which I took on holiday with me to the US. Traffic alerts worked there (in the Boston area) using v4.10.

Did you holiday for more than a year? ;-)

I wish! but the nuvi was bought back in the spring and I'd be surprised if the firmware was clever enough to distinguish between American alerts and UK ones (at least, I'd be surprised if they bothered to distinguish).

When you plug the TMC into the Nuvi and the ciggy light the flashing red light indicates it's determining which country you are currently in.
