hi, this is my first post so please excuse me if i make any gaffs.. Tomtom go 710 (3yrs old) worked fine until the docking shoe charger pin snapped (common fault) then battery ran dry. Got a home charge / PC docking unit and charged it over night (green light on) – PC's Tomtom Home not recognising it either. Still not powering up even after resetting (using the paperclip). The green light comes on only when pressing the start button but no screen or noise etc.. dead.
I removed the original SD card and placed it in my brothers 710 the backed it up using the pc docking station and it worked fine in his tomtom 710, so SD card is fine. placed it back in mine and still no joy.
Any suggestions please has I am getting lost and driving round in circles?
Any support is appricated or a repair place in Leeds perhaps who can have a look for me + where to buy a new Docking shoe (if I can fix the tomtom unit that is ).
Cheers

I would recommend http://www.satnav-shop.com (run by "Eldar" of this forum).
They're experts in the various forms of the "green light problem". |

Yes, on a few occasions. Unfortunately, my Go300 was one of the 25% that were too far gone to be economical to repair (too much damage to the motherboard).
I suspect that offer only applies to ones that have been blown up by their faulty early model of chargers, unless you can proove the charger is at fault.
Of course it's always worth a go at getting TT to fix it for free though.
