I thought I'd already looked here Embarassed

As a suplementary question, is there a mapping package wher I can click a location and it will save the place easily?

If you fully explain exactly what you wish to do, i'm sure someone will have an answer. You need to explain what format you want the location saved in and what you intend on doing with the information. i.e. load it to a Sat Nav (if so, tell us which one)....

Mrg2003,

As PaulB rightly says, it depends in some respects as to which sat-nav device you have.

I only have experience of TomTom and CoPilot as such.

But if you have a TomTom device, there is a quite easy way to do this...

Browse Google Earth, or Google Maps, to find the 'locations' you want (assuming using the sat-nav map itself is not useful enough for you, but if it is, then it's even easier as you can skip this aspect of things, locating in Google first).

At the same time, have your TomTom running, in Browse Map mode, and locate the same general area on your TomTom, as where you are looking in Google.

Locate, using map or satellite view, the item/point you wish to add as a POI, in Google Earth or Maps.

Identify the same spot, on your TomTom Map itself.

Then, on the TomTom, click that point, press the Cursor looking button at the bottom of the screen, and then Add it as a POI - either to an existing category, or a new one, as you prefer. Voila!

In other words, and simplifying what I say...

TomTom let you add POI's on the fly, on the device itself.

It doesn't come much simpler than that, BUT, sometimes, in terms of actually locating the place you want, it's not always obvious on the TomTom map itself.

If that is the case, just use in conjunction with Google Earth or Google Maps on your PC screen, to identify the correct spot.

THEN use TomTom to add that spot as the POI you want.

No faster way than this, when it comes down to it.

Finally, apologies if you are not using a TomTom, but if so others might be able to offer advice, depending on what device you do have.
