Hi
I got my new 730t from amazon today but what do i ned to do first as in updates backups etc?
I have read sometimes you egt free updates and that backing up is good?

I would start off by following the Links on the FAQs Page.
#1, Backup, is definitely the most important thing you can do with a new Device. Do it regularly, especially before updating or modifying anything.
Map Updates are available, if yours is not the latest, for the first 30 days after purchase.
Do a Search for Latest Map Guarantee, in the TomTom Forum and select the option Search for all terms.

Thanks did a full backup then downloaded the free map so now got ver805.1801 so now going to backup again

I'm about to get a 730 and didn't know about the map updates.
Can you have as many updates as you want in the first 30 days or just one?
If the latter I guess it is waiting towards the end of your 30 day window - is that right?

There aren't that many map updates, 2 or 3 a year. Might be advisable to wait until near the end of the 30 day window just in case I guess but the latest maps have only just been released, there is unlikely to be another within 30 days.
