MP3 files missing from UK database?

Hi

I've just downloaded the UK databases and am following Brian's guide on the Zumo forum as to how to install it in my Zumo 550. He refers to accompanying mp3 files which give a verbal warning. Are these no longer part of the download?

Welcome to the forum Richard, we have never supplied mp3 format speed camera warning files, but we do support ogg format.

In order to use these ogg files you will need to download a set (of your choice) from This Page, then use an audio editing package to convert the ogg files into mp3.

This might sound difficult but an application that is free to use called Audacity will do this for you very easily, Audacity can be obtained from This location.

Once you have downloaded the og files and then converted them you will have a fully comprehensive set of warning sounds for your device - Mike

I only thought that audio files were included because of Brian's instructions here:

Anyway, I have enough to cope with, without trying to configure audio as well!

I don't have access to that site to read the instructions offered, but downloading and converting a file set from ogg format to your required mp3 format would not take too long at all. - The choice is yours, if you want to have a go at converting and installing the audio warnings to your device please ask for any additional assistance if required - Mike

Just a point Mike - Audacity on my PC does not export MP3 - it says it wants something called Lame (or something). Free download, though, I think.

Correct, you need to install the mp3 encoder separately (it's a bit of a legal "issue")
