No idea, but if you could give us some more information (app version, HOME version, map version) it might jog someone's memory. |

You said you can't find it when you go to Manage Maps - did you go from there to Switch Maps? _________________ Dennis

Use Windows Explorer to view the contents of the map folder, is there a file that ends .meta.dct in there or not? You will have to have Windows Explorer set to view file extensions and not to hide files - Mike |

I don't think that file exists on v6 maps, Mike (not there on any of my old backups....). |

My old GO700 backups have WE 606, 660 and 675 and none of them have that file. Canary Islands still as original v605 doesn't have it either. _________________ Dennis

We have no idea what version this map actually is though from what has been typed so far, the western Europe map has no bearing on the map that won't display.
Go back to the Cannary map folder and open the file that ends .pna right click the file and select open with Note Pad, what is the text displayed within this file as this will explain the version the map is at - Mike |

There should be as many files, give or take 1 or 2, in every Map Folder.
The Canary Isles look like a non-starter for you. _________________ Richard

You're missing all the main map data!
Here's what my old v705 Canary Islands folder contained:
At 06/05/2008 19:11:58, 14 items, 4.33 MB
Canary_Islands.pna................61 bytes
Canary_Islands-5.meta................9.50 KB
Canary_Islands-5.meta.dct................132 bytes
cline.dat................2.60 MB
cname.dat................321.58 KB
cnode.dat................683.15 KB
cphoneme.dat................129.02 KB
crpoi.dat................67.64 KB
faces.dat................430.29 KB
mapinfo.dat................30 bytes
poi.dat ................105.27 KB
tables.dat................21.89 KB
tmccodes.dat................1.77 KB
traffic.dat................23 bytes
Whilst you're connected to the PC, now would be a good time to do a full backup (using Windows Explorer, instructions in the TT FAQs topic at the top of the index page).
If your Canary Islands map data has somehow gone missing, you need to protect the rest fairly urgently before it does the same!. |
