Do we have experienced Wikipedia Editors in the Community?

Some time ago we noticed that many companies had a profile page on Wikipedia and we attempted to publish a PocketGPSWorld.com page which highlighted our work with the speed camera database. It remained in place for a short while, but eventually got canned.

We tried our best to make the profile objective, but IIRC it was deleted because it was seen to be commercial. We also added a couple of what we believed to be relevant links elsewhere, but they were also deleted.

Does anyone with editor experience have any advice as to how to get accepted into the Wikipedia fold please?

Has it got to be someone other than the company itself that publishes the profile for fear of bias?
