|
|
I'm trying to assist a non technical friend who owns a Tom Tom 500 with original issue software. Home 2 does not recognise the unit even though Windows Explorer sees it and indeed, I have backed up his system using Explorer.
I'm sure I need to update to a later version of the software manually, before Home 2 will recognise the unit and update normally. Unfortunately, the "Old Boy" website seems to be no longer available as a source for previous software versions. Can anyone suggest a source, or suggest another solution?
Many thanks in anticipation.

Two solutions...
1. Oldboy's site is now here: http://www.oldboy.me.uk/TomTomUpdates/index.html
2. or you can simply install an older version of Home (v1.5 or v1.6), which WILL recognise the Go and will allow you to update to v6 software. At which point you can go back to Home v2 to update further to v7.
Both versions of Home can be downloaded from TomTom here:
http://www.tomtom.com/plus/service.php?ID=17
V2 is on the left, V1 is on the right (and Mac versions are below them). |
