Hey all, first post 
Is it possible to turn off the warning beeps for mobile cameras as it gets dam annoying while driving 32mph in a 30 zone when you know there's NO camera in sight.
I've installed the GPS world camera database using the POI loader and all is well, but I miss the directionality of the Garmin Database. |

I'm not overly familiar with this model. It doesn't have an mp3 player so i suspect it won't use mp3 alerts - therefore a silent mp3 option maybe out.
You could turn the Proximity Alerts off but i don't know if this model will still show you the camera icons if you do.
Directional Alerts - Garmin only allow this for their own database I'm afraid.
As you have referred to Mobile cameras you could just not load that database. There is an ongoing exercise to increase the accuracy of the Mobile Database which will take some time, but you must bear in mind that mobile sites are just that. 51 weeks of the year you may drive past and not see a camera, it's the time it is there you may get caught.

Currently the only option seems to be all or nothing! Useless 
Interesting theory on the MP3 front - think there is some software on here for messing with alert sounds - this could be the future. |

I'm afraid the 200 is a basic model with limited options.
Did you see my addtional info about not loading the Mobile database above? I was editing it as you posted.

Wondered how long it would take :D
Better idea, if I load the pocket gps cameras but do it manually via POI loader would it not just be possible to increase the warning to 5/10 mph over to stop the bonging, but retain the original warning bong? |

Not sure if POILoader can do it, but if you pen the file in Excel and change the settings there it'll work.
Open the file.
Click on any cell and press CTRL+H
Then type @20 in the top box and @25 in the bottom one.
Press Replace All to change all @20 to @25
Then type @30 in the top box and @35 in the bottom one.
Press Replace All to change all @30 to @35
Then type @40 in the top box and @45 in the bottom one.
Press Replace All to change all @40 to @45
etc
Save file and load as normal... |

this is how i'd do it
open in notepad, CTRL+H and replace all '@' with ',,'
save
open in excel select the new speed column and CTRL+H replace '0' with '5'
save
open in notepad, CTRL+H replace ',,' with '@'
save and bob's yer uncle
i don't like doing the same thing over and over... replace 20, replace 30, replace 40, replae 50....

I did this but it says "35 mph camera" is it possible to have the warning at 35 but the text display 30? |

| Also which download should I go for to make the changing quicker? I currently do the one that has all separate speed zones etc and takes a lot to change all the @'s |

consolidated is the best for garmin in my opinion. garmin software can get the individual camera speeds from within the file so you don't need the speed zoned. this would only leave 6 files to edit (5 if you dont use pMobiles)
as for having speed at 35 but say 30 then that's a no i'm afraid!

I think this was on and another thread - This one.
PhilHornby pointed out that if you download an old Beta copy of POILoader (POILoader_2400Beta.exe i think) it supports WAV files. So all you need is a silent WAV file with the same name as your Mobile.csv file and it'll "play" the silent sound instead of the alert. You still get on screen warnings but no sound just for the Mobiles.
Do this at your own risk. This is Beta Software and WAV file support was dropped by Garmin.
POILoader 2.4.2 - Click Here
Make sure you have 3 matching files, say:
Mobile.BMP
Mobile.CSV
Mobile.WAV
in your POI file collection and upload.
