I've upgraded my tomtom one (2nd ed) to app 7.162 and using new map "Western_Europe_1GB" v710.1561, but my ogg camera announcements (lizprompts22050) no longer play although they are automatically assigned to the PocketGPS camer POI's, which all seem to work fine. Please advise which OGG files I now need to use or are they no longer supported?

Thanks Confused

What censored icon?

Edit: Got it. In preview it cuts the word "assigned" off after 3 letters. The word it forms is on a list of censored words....

I'm afraid i probably can't - not that familiar with TT.

Someone will be along that'll help but it's late so you may have to wait for the morning.....

No worries it can wait. I can still see the warnings, but no sexy warning! Got to use the A2/M2 tomorrow and they are filled with SPECS n cams so the voices help no end. Cheers anyway.

Have you re-done the Warn When Near settings?

If you had a V6 Map previously you can copy the MapSettings.cfg File from your Backup!! and Paste it into the New V7 Map Folder.

Thanks Richard, I didn't know about copying that file, but I've gone through the warn when near for all the camera's again and the TT automatically see's the ogg file and requests to use the warning, but does not play the sound. I also do not get the flashing icon in the top left corner with the decreasing yardage.

When the software asks "Is this the sound you use" simply tap "Yes" even though the unit plays no sound, this is a known bug in the vs7 software - Mike

Sorry - simple old man question - Did you actually copy the camera files into the NEW map folder (3 files per camera, e.g. pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.bmp, pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.ogg, pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.ov2)?

If you are not getting the flashing icon either, then it definitely sounds like you have done something wrong with the "warn when near" set-up.

First check that you ARE switched to the new map.
Then, if you now have more then one map folder, check that ALL the files needed (the ov2s, the bmps, and the oggs) are all in the correct maps folder and all correctly named - (you haven't also switched from one version of the database to another?).
Then follow the instructions in the TomTom FAQs at the top of this forum for setting up the warn when near to the letter especially the bit about how it reacts when you get to the sounds selection.

If all else fails, if you are running v7 software you can do it another way - putting the ogg files into the "sounds" folder and then actually selecting them from the normal sound effects page, but the "normal" way SHOULD work.

Hi I have the same problem after updating TTO to app 7.162 and new map UK & Ireland ver 715.1689.

As I set up the warnings all works well for the first 15 warnings, after that TT asked me which standard sounds I want ie bell1, bell 2 etc etc

I then transferred the files as suggested to to the sounds folder and went throught the process off adding all warnings all seemed to work OK GREAT! until I went out and all warnings were police siren no Liz Crying or Very sad

Is there a limit to the number off ogg files allowed in the new version?
or is this another attempt by TT to stop 3rd party add ons?

I have used these sounds files for a very long time with out problems and I think they are GREAT!

OK I worked out the problem. The ogg files and "warn when near" only work when "warn only when on route" is selected. The problem here though is that if you have no route set, you won't get a warning!!! So keep your eye's peeled if you're not setting a route.

Thanks all

That's not normal...

As you say, they won't sound if "warn only when on route" is ticked and you don't have a route set.
But they SHOULD work all the time if "warn only when on route" is not ticked (on every camera type)..
