Just noticed a strange one on the latest Tomtom maps. A map share update blocks off the old slip roads on the M77 which Tomtom still has on the mapping, and were used by me when travelling. The new slip roads are also there 500m away, so one would think the mapping software would identify this and re-route via this when the old slips are blocked off. However what you'd think and what the sat-nav does are two different things, and instead it avoids that junction completely in advance planning. Ignore the sat-nav and head towards the slip roads it directs you onto them when you get close-by!

What could cause the sat-nav software to know these roads are there and route-plan on the go when you're near there, but not want to use them planning in advance? This just some sort of bug to report?

It could be that there is an unwanted turn restriction at one end of the new roads, this could be fixed with mapshare.

It is more likely that the new roads have not been "connected" properly in the map data, so there is no through route visible to the routing software. This can only be fixed by complaining to Tomtom and buying the subsequent map upgrade when it is updated.

It maybe that the best compromise is to unblock the old slip roads using mapshare.
