I have a Garmin C310, very basic but generally OK. I only use it in the UK, I do not drive abroard. The map data is now two/three yrs old and the newer bye-passes etc are not on. I have ordered the new 2008 CD (6 weeks ago) but when it eventually arrives will it be possible to download from it JUST the UK data ? I don't want or need maps of Europe. I know that I will have to pay for this priviledge and am wondering if it is really worth it. I can actually find my way around the UK using a road atlas !

Yes you can load just UK and Ireland maps. Whether it is worth it is a matter of personal opinion.
