What are the benefits of the new maps

Could somebody please let me know what the benefits of the new maps are.

i have a C510 which is now 2 years old, and garmin want to charge me around £60 for the maps.

I know that online, I could get a new unit for under 100 and I would get the news maps, so, for £40 I get a new machine, and I could probably sell the old one on ebay.

Just wondering if any of this is worth it for the benefits?

For Ireland there were big changes beteen v8 and v9.
The main changes now v9 to v10 [2008] are for eastern European areas.
There will be few changes for UK.
For some units the software may interperet the types of road in a different way!
