Hello guys, i am new on this site novice to these gagets, but i have subscribed to this forum for download purpose. i have TomTom GO 500 and i would like to get it working with all the latest software, navcore, speedcams etc etc. I have downloaded speed camera files but the other things i can not find on the forum. I am looking for a complete Installation guide (how and what files to put on new SD card and how and when to patch files), Navcore files + Patch files. i would very much appreciate if someone would give out step by step installation guide and also to let me know where would i find the required files on this forum. many thanks

Hi waseem123, there is a very comprehensive guide called TomTom FAQ's, it is full of essential information for TomTom owners.
If you get stuck or have any questions let us know and help will be along.

However, it is very important that the first thing you do is to connect your TomTom to your computer and make a full BackUp of it using Windows Explorer. DO NOT rely upon the back up which TomTomHome will make. (FAQ no.1 in the link)

To get the NavCores you need TT Home software installed. You can get that here

The Navcore can be downloaded using HOME. Connect the 500 to the PC and ask HOME to Update my Device.

You need to buy the maps from TomTom. There is a button for that in TT Home. You might also be able to buy them from TT website on an SD Card.

No other method of "downloading maps" is supported here.

Ok PaulB2005 thanks for letting me know. One more request, i am finding it hard to locate on this forum speed camera voices and POIs to download. if you dont mind would you or anyone let me have the link to download these ? i have checked in FAQs but no luck. There should be sticky notes thread which would have all the links to all downloads and that would be in one single thread, would be easy for every one. Thanks

There is a topic on cameras in the TomTom FAQs too Smile The links should all be there.

I'm think going to edit the title of that FAQ with some ****'s (that's asterisks, not a swear word! Very Happy ) to try to make it stand out a bit more.
