Eveningb All.
As you have told me on a previous post, dowloading the TOM TOM 1 doesn't give you any new maps.
What does it actually do, everytime you dowload it?
The reason I ask is, I got a bigger Memory Card to be able to have the bigger files it wanted to send.
However, I'm noticing in Towns where I have been before and, got good directions, sice I have downloaded the new stuff, it's sending me all over the place?
What do you think I can do to get it giving me credible directions again?

I have to admit, I'm not sure what you mean...
You say you have downloaded "the TOM TOM 1", but I know of no such thing.
There is TomTom's utility program called "Home" which you need if you want to buy and download new maps, and which can also be used to download extra (often free) items like new voices, Points of interest, colour schemes etc.
None of these (or anything else I can think of) would affect the actual navigating abilities of the TomTom you have.
So WHAT have you actually been downloading and HOW?

Hi,
Andy, could he be talking about Map Share, has he downloaded ALL mapshare updates, and not just the trusted ones, or whatever you call them?
Alan, When you connect to TomTom HOME, you download updates to the softwear, if there are any, and you download GPX.fix, I think its called, that updates the TomTom with the latest satalite positions, these are ok to download, but Map share, I don't have it, but you need to tick the box to install the trusted ones only, the ones that have been checked, I expect Andy will be back to explain it better. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav

I was wondering what the "bigger files it wanted to send" were. Map Share updates are pretty tiny, aren't they.
Hopefully, Alan will come back with some more info.

Alan, it sounds like you have got the mapshare updates. Did you do this by going through the "Update my device" option in Home?
You can check to see if this is causing the problems now by temporarily disabling the updates from being used on the device then trying to calculate the same route and see where it sends you.
To disable mapshare updates from being used, go to "Map corrections" on the main menu (it may be on page 2 etc). Then choose "Correction preferences". On this screen, deselect ALL the options then keep tapping "Done" until you are back to the map.
To put them back, just go through the same options and select the ones you want (top two are usually enough). _________________ Gerry
