|
|
Hi
My company have supplied all it's external guys with the Blaupunkt Travelpilot Lucca (bottom of the range bless em ). I have used TomTom for via pda or phone for years , and have used this site for the speed camera data base, so I am reluctant to move to something that doesnt have the speed camera info.
Does anyone know if it is possible to load on the speed camera data base and how to go about it.
Other wise the thing will just be gathering dust on the shelf.
Thanks

Hi Stuche,
Gathering dust on the shelf may be an option as I also cannot find out anything about the Lucca.
I've also been given one and have noticed that the post code only covers the first 5 digits as opposed to the later TomToms covering the full 7.
With very limited exposure, short post codes and no speed camera warnings, it doesn't exactly have a lot going for it huh?

It seems that Blaupunkt expects you to only go TO a destination, not be warned of one nearby. A Service document (3.5Mb PDF) that may or may not be for your device shows that there might be in-built warning (pages 26 & 28) but no info on what is included or how often it is updated.
My best advice would be to check your instructions and see if there is anything about using 3rd party POIs (or at least bewing able to make your own categories up). Depending on how these are stored, something may be possible.
I was a bit worried about this in the FAQ though (bold is mine):
Quote: | 40. My Lucca does not guide me to my destination on the same route as other navigation devices. Why?
The navigation algorithm used by a portable navigator is different to that of a fixed navigation system. If no other route seems to make sense, it may even be possible that the Lucca guides you using a blocked route section. |
