I have been using a company owned Tomtom One V2 Regional for approx 18 months with virtually no hiccups.
Today I used a colleagues Tomtom One with Western European maps but when I entered the post code of my destination the Tomtom just found the town near to where I was going but no street name etc. It basically ignored the last thre digits of the post code and I had to fill out the street name etc!
On the regional maps however it displays the full post code and the street where I am going.
An example of this is post code BA20 1BD.
On the regional map it says (after I've typed the post code) BA201BD Huish.
On the W.E. map it just says BA20 (Yeovil).
Can anybody advise on this? I am thinking of getting a TT One XL with W.E. maps but if the full post codes aren't fully usable would I be better off with separate maps for the UK and W.E.?

Thansk!

Full 7-digit postcode search should work on every TomTom.

The colleague's one you have been using is missing the postcode data files.
There should be a folder on the machine called "zip" (as in American "zipcodes" nothing to do with "zipped" archive files).

You could either copy the folder from your one onto his, or you can now download the necessary files from TomTom (unless the link has died again).
There was LONG discussion about this about a month ago (over which version of the files was the latest. A 'search' should find it and the relevant links)
