Newest software on a 910

Ok, sorry if this has been asked before, but I must have missed it if it has (a search brought up nothing I could use)

Has anyone with a heart of steel actually tried running the latest version (v7.221?) of the TomTom OS on a 910? Would it just be a case of copying the ttsystem file from a 920 to the 910 for example?

I'd be willing to try it, if I knew that all I'd have to do is use Winfows to swap the files back again from a backup.

I don't want to use another users MAPS, just try the latest OS to see if it works.

EDIT: OK, never mind. I tried it anyway, and it appears the ttsystem file isn't the file I'd need anyway. Just put one from a 920 on a 910 and no difference in the HOME interface, but won't boot when disconnected. I've restored the original and all's fine

Me being me, I'm just curious as to why the latest software won't run / isn't available to be run on a slightly older model.I would have thought the x10s were new enough to try it. Maybe it's a CPU/RAM thing. Hey ho.

Don't make the mistake of thinking a later number means the "latest" software.
There are now different software versions for different machines... v7.162 IS the latest for a 910 AFAIK (and the rest of the range too, except its v7.163 for Go Classic, 7.221 for the x20 models and I'm not sure where the Rider/Rider 2 are at!)
