Hi All

Just wondering what others have set their route options at, my S50 is set to the middle on route type and more often for motorways.

The reason I ask this is that I seem to be told to take smaller backroads and roads only suitable for single vehicles in places rather than the larger roads that I would prefer to take.

Cheers

Neil

Have mine set to max for motorways and one from max for speed, and very rarey sent down backroads and lanes - so don't end up meeting a Garmin user THAT often!

Good luck - let us know how you get on, if they guide you on the right type of road, most of the time, or if it is just local to me...!

Hi xtraseller

Still insists on taking me over the little country lanes, ah well, serves me right for living on a hill in Halifax!

I should have bought a horse instead of a car then I wouldn't have this trouble.

I find best routing for avoiding the lanes is

Route Type (Far Right but one)

Preference for Motorways (Far Right)

Toll Roads (Warn)

Unsurfaced Roads (Avoid, Warn)

Ferry Routes (Avoid, Warn)

Really works locally for me anyway, and doesn't take me down anywhere near as many "senic" routes as my Garmin Nuvi did!
