Yes. It doesn't matter where the application is stored, except that if you have applications on both internal and external memory devices, the external one will take precedence. Maps can also be installed on either medium and all maps will be available, provided they are properly activated, wherever they are stored. _________________ Tim |

The TT x20's do support 4gb cards, they will even read 8gb cards as I am using one in my 520. _________________ TomTom Go 950 Live.

Format the 8GB card under Windows Explorer using an SDHC compatible reader connected to the PC, then use the full capacity as intended. You will have to load files (music, maps etc) via the card reader as the x20 cannot correctly use the SDHC card at this capacity when in PC connected mode, it is fine once you have the data on the card and working though - Mike |

Put the card in an SDHC compatible reader (not the TomTom unit as its not capable of doing this currently) and insert it to a USB slot on the PC, locate the card in Windows Explorer, right click it and select format from the list of options presented.
As a tip don't have the TomTom device connected when you do this, if you get the drive letter wrong you could wipe the internal Flash memory through a simple mistake - Mike |

Put the card in the reader and copy the required files to the card using Windows Explorer, make sure you put the files into the correctly named folders.
Once the data is on the card insert it to the 720 and you will find it can read the data.
Music files go into a folder named "mp3" (without the "") the "mp3" folder should reside in the root of the memory card.
What are you trying to put on the 8GB card? - Mike |
