Hi all,i have a new road angel and a garmin nuvi 200,my question is do i dump the road angel and rely on the garmin for camera detection as having both in the car at the same time is a pain in the arse,or does the road angel offer much more coverage?
id be interested to know your feelings,if there was a sat nav that could give me the same sort of coverage i would put both of them on e bay and use the cash to buy it,sorry if this is a stupid question!
thanks

Hi and welcome.

Are you using the Garmin camera database on the Nuvi?

If so, it's pretty bad.

Personally, and i might be slightly bias here, I'd ditch the Road Angel, disable the Garmin Camera database and use the PGPSW database instead.

Cheaper, more accurate and you have the opportunity to be awarded a free lifetime subscription, which no other database offers.

There is a review of the Garmin 710 is which MaFt says

Quote:
Two Truvelo cameras I passed in Leeds were not in the Cyclops database but were in the PocketGPSWOrld.com database with ID numbers of around 2,000 – meaning they have been in our database for a good four or five years. Another example is on Manchester road in Bradford, the Nuvi warned me of a 30mph Gatso while travelling south – this camera has never even existed. There is, however, a Redlight camera on the opposite carriageway that has been there for years and is correctly identified in the PocketGPSWorld.com database.

The PGPSW database is only £19 a year, and is a fully verified database. Dozens of additions / deletions / changes are verified every day.
