This is just a little niggle which I hope someone can help me with. On my X-970T New, if I want to delete a route/destination, then I can only do so by changing the route/destination. There is a button on the 'Destination Options' screen which one is taken to if you want to change the last destination, but it is greyed out and always has been.
Can anyone out there help and say if they have that button available and how do I make it available?.

On my 980, if I set up a route, then under Route Options/'Delete Route' it deletes the destination (where I might have expected it to delete the starting point as well, actually); alternatively, as you say, under the 'destination options' screen it offers 'Change' which does the same, but 'Delete' is greyed-out.

From a quick experiment I found that the destination/'Delete' option is greyed out because it is actually paired with the 'Save' option, ie assumes you have previously stored a stage(s) in the unit (the screen is now called 'stage options' and the option IS available). Possibly 'Delete Route' assumes that you have a saved route stored in the unit - see under Route Options/'Managing a Route' - but I haven't pursued that at the moment.

You may find the manual easier to follow than my ramblings!

That makes a lot of sense, David. I'll try that option and see if it works. I do have the downloaded Manual, but find it quite difficult to follow. I suppose I should print it off at some time.

Graham

Later........i have now tried that. I opened a saved route and then tried the change it. When I got to the screen with the 'Delete' button on it, it was still greyed out. I'll try the Manual. Crying or Very sad

Have now checked the Manual. The description of what the Icon is supposed to do is on page 24 (6.2.13)
So I am no further forward Crying or Very sad Must be something in the software causing the problem.

Sorry Gee-Pee - as so often after I have tried variations I don't quite remember what did what! What I think I had actually done was ADD STAGE to a route under Route Options. That was when the 'delete ' option became available. I think I found the same 'no change' situation as you when trying out the 'Save'.

I think you'll find that. It remains that if you use the 'Delete Route', it does at least delete the destination, which is one thing you said you wanted. I have yet to get experience in actually managing Saved routes/stages.

So I hope I haven't completely wasted your time! Embarassed

That's it! When I added a 'Stage', then the delete button became available and deleted one of the stages. So, I now know how to do that - mind you, it would be useful to have it available just to delete the last destination. Thanks a lot Wink

I have the 750T NE

If I select the "go to.. " option from the main menu and add a destination,
selecting "route options" gives me the "delete route" option straight away.
This removes the destination and takes me back to the select destination page.

I only get the delete button greyed out if I haven't got a destination .

Aaaah! I think I've got it Wink

Your way works and I can delete the Route that way. What I was trying to do, and is obviously wrong, is to open the 'route summary' screen and instead of tapping the 'Route Options' bar at the bottom, I tapped the chequered flag icon against the destination or the green flag icon against the starting address, which then opens the screen, shown in the print screen picture (above) that I posted. The screen is called "Stage Options" and gives you various options but not 'Delete' Alternatively, it opens a screen called 'Destination Options'. There you get only two options, Change or Save and the Delete is dimmed out.
Sorted Wink Many thanks.
