Hi, First post! (probably not the last...)
I've just subscribed to PocketGPS World so that I can download the speed camera database.
I live in France, but drive in UK on hols etc so it will be useful, also I'm hoping that the fledgling EU database will also be useful.
My problem is, (and believe me - I've looked - for hours!  ) I can't find the size of the database so that I can determine what size of replacement SD card to buy.
I have the Tomtom One v2 Western Europe with the original card (which I believe is 1gb?) but there is not a lot of space left on it (I haven't added anything to it)
I have been looking at the Sandisk Extreme lll 2 gb card, but before I splash out on it (they are dearer over here than UK!  ) I just want to know if it will be adequate? (Speedwise and capacitywise)

It really depends on what type of cameras you want but to be honest the database is not that big and a 2GB SD card will be ok as i have one also with WE and the database on it.

In fact your 1Gb will be big enough too, if you delete some of the stuff you won't use, like foreign voices (assuming you have them on).

Total size of the latest PGPSW Speed Camera download (speed-zoned set) is only 500 KB (512,793 bytes) (or "size on disk" 535 KB (547,840 bytes))
POI files are pretty tiny!! |

Thank you all for your replies.
I'm amazed how small the database file is! (I'm also surprised the size is not quoted on the download page - it would stop numpties like me asking...  )
All I have to do now is find a retailer in UK who ships to France and is reasonably priced.

Its basically only a text file and text takes up very little room.
