Nav unit for the States and Peru?

Hi Everyone,

I would like to buy a nav unit for my car. I would use it in the states to get around but I would also like to have maps for Peru. I'm pretty sure Tom Tom only covers North America, but I see that Garmin has a list of map providers that includes Peru. My question is, which Garmin unit allows me to load third party maps, and if you happen to know, how exactly they are loaded?
