Is a 2.8" Screen OK for In Car Navigation

I find that screen size more than usable to be honest, but you will need to consider your vehicle, where you can mount the device and obviously you need to try the device at that range for your eye sight - Mike

How good is your eyesight, how far away will it be mounted, and what software would you be using? Too small for me using TomTom for instance as I have difficulty reading the smaller text in the information bar (and I have good eyesight).

A better question is to ask what software is designed for, or at least works well, on a 2.8" screen. The screen is large enough if it is not cluttered with visual noise and valuable space is not consumed with pretty pictures, as all the current graphic designers are inclined to do.

The problem is that people have gotten used to 21" computer monitors and think nothing of wasting half the screen realestate on pointless pretty pictures, branding, advertising and what I refer to as fluff - take this forum for instance, the actual working part of the screen is 1/3 wide and 1/2 height of my window.
