hi i joined yesterday, and downloaded the file{s} pgpsw-speed-cams-xxxx for my garmin Nuvi 250w, followed all the instructions and transfered the POI's to my unit.

i followed your suggestion and turned off the pre-set garmin speed camera's.
i went out for a trip around swindon, and i went past the 2 fixed cameras and 3 red light cameras in my area....i had no warning sound or visual on screen Crying or Very sad .

how do i activate it???

Do the cameras show on the map on this page?

Where you over the limit as you approached?

Guinness ???
Surely not!

Seriously, Paul's right, I think on those units you only get a warning if you are exceeding the speed limit as you approach.

My i3, by default, only shows the cameras if you are over the limit (hic!), however I wasn't so sure for more up to date Garmin units.

yes all those camera's are on that page.

no i was not over the limit Laughing (but the garmin one gives audible warning everytime you approach)

what about the red light camera's...do they only show when lights are on red. Surprised

also along queens drive mobile camerea's are often there...should that not show i.e. ingarmin "Audible sound + Mobile Camera area warning"

The Garmin database is different.

The PGPSW database is a collection of POIs with speed data and is treated as such by the unit. Therefore by default the cameras only alert if you are over the speed limit. You can use Ash10s Camera Manager Software to adjust the warning distances and set an initial alert that sounds regardless of speed and then a second alert that sounds if you are over the limit when you get closer to the camera.

Again only if you are speeding with the PGPSW database.
