Hi
Just bought the Western Europe Maps and put them onto a 1GB SD card as i currently use a 256mb on my Go 300, having followed their instructions 4 times every time i turn the TomTom on it says no maps!
In TomTom home it says their on my device, but if i try and use it through Home or on its own they are not showing!
Have currently gone back to my old UK ones, but really could do with some help with this as i want the new Maps on.
TomTom support is its usual blandness online and am still awaiting a response from them.
Please help |

Which "plan c highlighted in thet link"?
Be aware that those instructions were written for someone with a DVD of maps which came with a "product number" card for activating the maps.
New maps MUST be downloaded via Home as the software security and locking to your machine is now handled by Home. |

By Plan C i meant i had tried 2 already.
THink i have fixed it now - only took 2 hours!
Basically it wouldnt work on a 1GB disc even though their was aroud 30mb free, i have transferrred everything onto a 2GB disc and now it works!
No idea why, but it works -now all i have to do is sort out POI's as it appers to have put a Tesco's into the middle of the Channel! |

Is it outside? - or put it in the car with a good sight of the sky - it can take upto 20 minutes, but very often far less than this, after this first fix the time taken will be far less - Mike |

It will work there again too. for some reason after installing a new map it needs to get a strong signal for its first connection after the map update. I noticed this also after installing my new map. I went for a shower after installing a new map, switched it on and left it at the table and when i came out and got dressed it was still looking for a GPS signal. Went outside to go somewhere and it found it in an instant and now works at the table every time. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)
