Battery may have been charged when you last used it...how long ago? It might be worth while connecting it to a power source and then trying to activate it. (USB port on computer/car ciggie lighter?). Try a hard reset - (Power switch on bottom of unit) leave it off a couple of minutes then try switching it on again. When it's connected in the car, do you have a power light showing on the unit - Green for charged and amber for charging ?
When you say 'froze', did it start to re-boot then froze during the setup? Or, does it just not react to switching it on? Remember, the two power switches (one on the top of the unit and one on the bottom of the unit) do different things. The one on the top merely puts the unit into a suspended state - there is still a slight battery drain. The one on the bottom (hard reset) turns off the power/unit completely.
Finally, there is a reset button on the bottom of the unit. If you have tested the power options, and you have power in the battery, try this one. _________________ Gee-Pee

used it 2 days previously on a trip to Birmingham and worked no prob. When needed again for a small trip it came on but wouldn,t do anything, eventually got it to switch off. Had amber light on no green light and had it charging in cigarette lighter. Will try charging with laptop.
Is it right it wont charge higher than 50% when switched on when its plugged into cigarette lighter? |

Mine takes longer via the USB on the laptop, can you leave it connected and charging in your car? And, NO it is not correct that it wont charge higher than 50% when switched on in the cigarette lighter, but it is better to leave it switched off and charging - mind you it will take longer if you have a traffic module attached (The T1) _________________ Gee-Pee

Might be worth checking the car charger. Is it in fact charging? There is, I believe a little fuse in it. On the end that goes into the car ciggy lighter socket, there is a black ring - looks something like a large washer. That unscrews and everything - spring, contact and fuse falls out. Check the fuse either visually or if you have a multimeter or something check the continuity. However, leave it alone if you are happy that your unit is charging - however slowly. If it aint broke...................
Glad to help and it's nice getting feedback. _________________ Gee-Pee
