Oh no!

I've already screwed over my new 520!

Maybe not, but anyway, heres an odd one.

I turned it on from new and from what I remember I definately had the navcore7 3d effect around rivers/urban areas. (you know the very slight shadow thing).

Anyway, with my latest map guarantee thing, I got a free upgrade to UK map 7.10, which I duely downloaded and installed.

Now I'm guessing that that is the reason I've gone back to "flat" urban areas and water. I can't remember exactly when I lost it.

Any ideas?

Only some areas have the 3D effect, have a look at streets in central London.

hi darren....

think we may be talking about different things here.

all urban area have had a 3d shadow around the very edge of them. not true 3d - not even close, just a nicety really that made the maps look slightly better.

anyone know what im going on about that could explain better?

having look at what you meant regarding central london - this is kind of what i mean - except before, all urban areas were showing up as buildings/raised. i dont believe it was an pronouced

It probably also depends on the colour scheme you've chosen. You haven't changed that have you?

I've been wanting to tweak my favourite "GB_New" scheme to see if I can GET RID OF the 3D buildings in Cities,, 'cos I don't like it.
Tried to subscribe to the Colour Scheme Editor Forum, but it seems dead on that site.

I have changed the colour scheme - but its apparently unconnected as..

1) If I use the scheme on my dads ONE XL, it appears fine
2) If I use a standard colour scheme on my 520, I still get the same problem.

Is this the same for everyone or just me?

Hi

I never noticed it before, or can say it bothers me, but my maps are all flat, no 3d effect at all (TT 720).

Could updates be to blame

I have never seen that 3D effect on either my 520 or 720 outside of the partial 3D building effects in some urban areas.

Ahh ok - well it seems its a feature on the navcore7 "lite" version, but not on the x20 devices.

Very odd, but hey. Glad its not something I've broke - so thanks guys.
