Hello.

i tried to search for an answer for this - but no luck. it would help if i knew what to search for???
Embarassed
i have TT6 on my O2 Orbit and it works well.

what i would like to do is plan a route on my PC where i have much more screen space.

i figure that i have already paid a licence for my maps - is there a way that i can view them on my PC and do my planning there? or

could i use google maps or microsoft autoroute to plan a route and then copy this to TT6?

thanks

dbb

Indeed you can.

Have a look at This Thread and it should give you some idea.

You need to take care when planning an itinerary using Google and transferring the itn file to TomTom. You can drag the route using Google to go the way you want and Google will create a certain number of waypoints to pin down the route. However, TomTom does not have the same weighting factors for different types of road, so that when you load a Google-derived itinerary into TomTom it will, of course, pass through all of the waypoints, but may diverge from the expected route elsewhere. TomTom's marked preference for motorways may cause it to depart from the direct route between two widely separated waypoints in order to include as much motorway as possible.
I found this when planning some routes through France. I used Google and got the route I wanted, loaded the itn into TomTom and it was different from the Google route in several places. I had to insert a few more waypoints to pin it down (I did this using the simulator in TomTom Home)
