Hi there,

Am i missing something or is the garmin software on the zumo 550 a bit cack? Seems to lack so many features that my friends cheapy tomtom one has like being able to set warning distance for POI's and different sounds etc for each kind, thought this was great for differentiating between camera types.

Bit disappointed in my purchase tbh, althought I wanted something for the bike as well and the specs looked good.

Edit: Another thing i noticed is the maps seem hideously out of date - half an entire housing estate in my village is missing and so is the industrial estate Laughing Out Loud!

Cheers,
-
Ade

You can't control the built in Garmin Camera Database, but if you use the PGPSW Speed Camera Database the POI Loader application will allow you to configure different warnings and will use custom sound files (if in the right format).

Not uncommon, Garmin are about to release their next map update from Navteq, which may include these missing roads. One nice feature is that Garmin will let you view the map online to confirm this before purchasing the upgrade (although as a new purchaser you may qualify for a free upgrade if you are lucky).

It could be worth looking at Ash,s camera manager software (sticky thread in this forum)

I am not sure if it works with the zumo but if it does its worth having. Idea

The Zumo should support most of the functionality of Ash's utility out of the box with POI Loader.
