Recently bought a set up that included Tomtom II Official Software Discs and a Rikaline 6010 (Gps mouse)

Can anyone tell me, is this the official GPS reciever that comes with Tomtom?? Or has the kit been made up i.e TTN II and a sepereate GPS mouse??

If so is this a good GPS reciever?? Tend to average about 5 to stat's in Kent.

This is not the official receiver, the official one is a Leadtek 9531/9532.

I suspect someone has just bundled it together with the Rikaline X5. It is a fairly good receiver, we'll have the review out this week.

Cheers Dave

Thumbs Up

Works pretty well though for me!!

Seeing as I got a HP5450, TTN II with that Rikaline, a leather case and a basic car mount all for £400!! I'm quite chuffed really with it all!!! (Total price would be over £600 new I think!!)

Where did you get that bundle from?

I was thinking of getting a bundle which includes Dell Axim X5 plus TTN2 plus Rikaline 6010 for £400. I thought that was pretty good but yours tops that.

hi,
ebay is good, but check the spec of the pda first as there are 2 dell x5`s knocking about one is 300mhz and the other is 400mhz xscale chip.

the 400mhz is better in terms of ram and memory and matches the hp2210 for features, the 300mhz has less standard memory and ram so best to ask which one you will be getting first Smile

Cheers
Nick

I would say the Axim X5 and the iPAQ 2210 are a near match on features. The Axim X5 doesn't have built in Bluetooth, whereas the iPAQ 2210 does. All iPAQ 2210s have Pocket PC 2003; older Axim X5 devices will have Pocket PC 2002.

The comments about the difference between the two Axim X5 models are accurate. For navigation use, I would go for the 400MHz model every time - the smaller memory of the 300MHz model could be a problem.

maybe "matches" was the wrong word, but even without bluetooth as standard its still a very good alternative.

They have discontinued the X5 and replaced it with the X3 & X3i both pda`s have similar specs, so for a low cost pda with ample features i would go for the 400 mhz X5 any day (would save me £50 Thumbs Up )

Cheers

There's no doubt - the 400MHz version of the Axim X5 is a good Pocket PC. The only reason for my clarification was so that people can be clear about the differences. If you want Bluetooth, the Axim X5 is not a good choice.
