Hi Everyone,
I only just noticed this and it definately did not show earlier in tomtom home2.
I have not heard of this feature before and think it may be new so i thought i would post incase it is new.
it is called "Add Your Own Car Symbols"
"Your TomTom GO uses a blue arrow by default to show your current position in the Driving View. One of the ways you can personalise the Driving View is by changing this symbol. Your TomTom GO comes with a pre-installed set of car symbols. You can also upload your own car symbols to your TomTom GO.
How to create a car symbol:
1. The image size should be 80x80 pixels.
2. The image background should be red (RGB 255,000,000).
3. The image should be saved as .bmp,
How to upload your image to your TomTom GO:
1. Select 'continue' at the bottom right of this page. TomTom HOME will open an Explorer window which shows the content of the car symbol folder on your TomTom GO.
2. Drag the new image file from your computer and drop it in the car symbol folder.
3. Disconnect your TomTom GO from your computer and turn on your device.
How to change the car symbol on your TomTom GO:
1. Open 'Change preferences' in the Main menu.
2. Select 'Change car symbol'.
3. Select your new image. |

Its part of the New TomTom HOME 2.0, you need Version 7.12, on TomTom and maps 675 or higher to use it. So the new TT520,720 has it. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

This is only possible on the x20 devices at the moment, the One family of units do not include this functionality, it has nothing to do with the version of Home software at all - Mike

I haven't got 675 maps, but I have got TomTom version 7.12, but I haven't got "Change Car Symbol" icon either. Have you tapped on "Show all menu options" in preferences?it should be there. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

Please assure me you have yet to read my post above? - there is a rather subtle clue about the device type that can do this, if it isn't an x20 based device it doesn't matter what version of device software or Home software it simply won't work - Mike |

Please also take a look back at some previous posts. The "search" button is all-powerful in the right hands... |

Got nothing to do with the version of Home or the map versions.
It is ONLY available on the new TomTom Go 520 and 720 units. _________________ Graham.

I think in defence of some of the posters the link to come to this thread states 'TomTom v7 Custom Cursors Download Page Now Available'.
People might take that as 'ooooh my TomTom one has just been updated to 7.12' so why can't I get this function. I certainly did. |
