My BTGPS is off with about 200 feet in altitude. Anyone outthere that's experienced the same? I've checked with an aeroplane altimeter and Garmin GPS map 295. The altimeter and Garmin showed about the same, but mine about 200 feet to high.

There have been reports that some firmware versions of SiRF based receivers are calculating/displaying the height correnction wrongly. Maybe your receiver is one of them. _________________ Lutz

Your GPS is SiRF based. Read this thread - and the older thread I linked to it.

If you can switch the GPS to SiRF mode, then GPSTweak will tell you - use the Poll Version option.
I don't know whether or not there's any issues in switching an Emtac between SiRF and NMEA modes. I've lost track of which Bluetooth GPSes have this type of issue and which don't.

Thanks!
Shifting between SIRF and NMEA works well with the Emtac program Crux View.
The GPSTweak reports SW Ver: 231.000.000ES so I guess I've got firmvare 2.31. _________________ // jolo |

That's the same version as in the HI-303MMF receivers that both Alun and I have - just for information as you read those old threads. It is indeed a 2.31 firmware version.
