Hi, I'm totally new on this site and totally new to GPS and Pocket PCs.
I'm going to be in the market for a Pocket PC in the near future, and I will sooner or later add on GPS.
My whole purpose for this product is to run shooting ballistics program from.
I'm a hunter and all around outdoorsman my primary purpose for having the GPS will be for marking and re-locating spots in the wilderness or on a lake.
I'm not that big of a traveler so the highway application is secondary to me.
My question is considering what I just pointed out what GPS system will give me the most use. I'm concerned with marking points and keeping them in memory. I believe most folks call these weigh stations or something like that! Like I said I'm totally new to all this.

Probably no response because this site is mainly UK based and hunting is banned, also the main use for Sat. Nav's here is road based.
Mio or iGO software allows off road (lock to road by default) and you can insert 'push-pins' of places you wish to revisit.
The main problem is many units will only give a battery life of of 2 - 4 hours. |

Thanks that helps ! I'll probably end up buying a seperate GPS and using the ppc for other uses!

Chuck, have a look HERE where you will be able to check out the various devices on the market. (Maybe over there too).
The all in one GPS-PDA-PHONES may be worth looking at. You should be able to get a good idea whether these, or any similar, devices would suit your needs.
