Uploading maps to Nuvi 310 with mapsource

Hi guys,

Very hassled, have looked everywhere, but cannot find a solution and I think it may be a simple error I am making?

I have a Nuvi 360 and have gone onto the Gamin unlock site and used my second unlockfor my partners Nuvi 310 so I can put the european maps on the unit.

The problem is I keep getting an error uploading from Mpasource.

I highlight the maps, then click transfer to device, it locates the Nuvi, maps has a tick in the box. I have an empty 1gn sd card in the unit.

When I click send I get an error message saying "There was a problem communicating with the garmin device"

Any ideas? Crying or Very sad

Firstly, is the card formatted? I would try putting a small mp3 file on the SD card and see if the Nuvi can play the music - which would imply it's happy with the card.

I would also suggest you try the card in an SD card reader directly on your PC - this is likely to be a much faster map transfer, so well worth it for speed alone, and it may well fix your problem.

Can Mapsource download, say, favourites from the Nuvi - this would confirm you don't have a generic USB / driver type problem...?

I have managed to load all the maps to the sd card (which was formatted)
But when I put it in the Nuvi nothing happens? (It burns as a img file) I have turned the Nuvi 310 on and off, but no change, on the map section it just shows UK & Europe

If I try and download anything from the Nuvi to the PC it does not work either?

It would certainly appear the problem is PC related.

Have you got the latest MapSource version installed? Have you got the latest USB driver from Garmin installed?
