|
|
I've had a subscription now for three weeks.
I live in Scotland and use the TT mainly at the weekend. After meeting some closed roads on my TT routes I thought I'd get TT traffic.
Well for the three weekends I've had it, it has failed to alert to the resurfacing work on the Forth road bridge.
This bridge is a major link and any disruption causes problems.
The fact that for the next sixteen weekends they are closing the northbound carriageway and contra flowing the south bound has been well reported because of the forecast delays.
Twice I have had to make the the journey across and knew what to expect. 60min and 90min delays yet TomTom not only showed no delays it didn't even show the contraflow.
The second time when stuck I told TT to avoid the next mile. I took me of the motorway and routed me via Kincardine bridge. Again TT showed no problems but I still hit stationary traffic resulting from the knock on effect from the Forth road bridge.
These are two major Scottish routes yet TomTom Traffic fails to report any problems.
When I raise the issue with TomTom I get the standard 'thank you for your valuable feedback'
I can't believe TomTom can sell a service that is so poor. |

I agree - traffic info is useless. You have to use it in conjunction with the radio. I've been stuck in traffic with no warning, and had warnings of Motorway closed or congestion, and as there was no mention on the radio, I ignored the TomTom warnings, and found TomTom was wrong. It's slow to get warning, and slow to remove them when the hazard is cleared. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. |

Due to the poor performance of Traffic I have replaced my TT One with a ViaMichelin x-370T. This use TMC and so far is all I wanted from Traffic but never got. even if it wasn't, at least its not adding £8 to my mobile bill each month.
I'm now waiting to hear back from TT regarding my Traffic subscription. I'm hoping I can transfer the subscription to whoever buys the TomTom from me.
Failing that I'd like a partial refund. The subscription doesn't expire until 12.04.2008 so would hate to just write it off. |

I have to agree with all the comments here, TT Traffic is worse than useless. It tells me about things that are not there, and doesn't tell me about things which are there - almost to the extent that I can almost find it useful by doing the precise opposite of what it suggests !! _________________ Tony

I have a TT traffic sub and find it excellent in use.
It has never let me down.
It does sometimes over estimate traffic delays, but apart from that can't fault it.
It's much better than the traffic master and traffic-i subscriptions I have had in the past. |
