Can anyone tell me if the Navman 3000 jacket will work with the HP iPAQ 5550, please?

I've got a reply from Navman themselves:

Quote:
Dear Sir,

Thank you for contacting the Navman technical support team. From a hardware
point of view,, the GPS 3000 will work together with the iPAQ 5550. From a
software point of view, it depends on what software you wants to run this
with, as it will not work with the software that initial came with the
sleeve (SmartPath Trip and SmarthPath City).

Kind regards,
Erik Penninga

Given the spec of the system I presume this means that it will work with any software that is NMEA compliant at 57600 baud. I'll reply and ask the question.

As expected the official reply from Navman is that the GSP 3000 will work with any software that supports NMEA at 57600 baud.

I have just been looking at replacing my very slow 3870 with a new 5555 but was worried that I would have to change the sleeve as well. However after ready this thread I see that I wont have to. My question is, is the TT2 Voice software I have just bought compliant with the new machine and sleeve (ie NMEA @ 57600 baud).

There's certainly no compatibility issues between the TomTom Navigator 2 software and the new iPAQ you're proposing.

I don't think there's any compatibility issues between your Navman sleeve and the new iPAQ either - though I have no direct experience to be able to confirm this. Don't forget that you will need to install the Navman driver on the new iPAQ before you can use the Navman hardware in TomTom Navigator 2.
