Hi guys, sorry to be a pain by asking for help with my very first post, but Google led me here on my quest to sort out this problem, so I shall appeal to ye mighty GPS gods that I have trekked long and hard to find.
I have an Orange SPV C600.
I have TomTom Mobile 5.2 installed and working with GB maps.
I have a Globalsat BT-308 GPS receiver.
All these were given to me for work purposes by my new employers, so God only knows what they've been doing with them in the past, but hey its free gear.
I believe I have paired the phone and the receiver correctly, the phone threw up no objections and seemed to connect just fine. However, when I attempt to connect TomTom to the BT-308, it refuses to see it. I go from this screen:
To this:
But then when I click 'Continue' I get taken straight back to:
with no opportunity to select a COM port to connect to.
My Bluetooth device is named 'Other Bluetooth GPS' as other help sites said should help, and I am using COM 7 as an outgoing COM port. I'm pretty sure this is right but if I'm doing something blatently stupid, please let me know.

My wifes SPVc600 connects using Com 6 for the GPS, did you select the check box for serial port when you established the connection? - if you are not sure delete the GPS pairing/ Bond and try it again.
TT Mobile was only ever sold packaged with a TomTom GPS receiver though so this could be part of your problem, ask them where the original GPS receiver is.
When using Other BT device the software will not ask you to name the port, it does this automatically - Mike

Thanks for this, I tried changing to COM6, and yes, I had checked Serial Port. None of that made any difference, still refuses to connect.
Just thought I'd post an update - with the help of one of the guys at work, I got it working.
Basically I had done everything right, and it was actually connecting up properly. The problem was, because I was inside my house (Victorian, with quite thick walls) I wasn't getting a GPS signal. I mistakenly took the 'No GPS signal' error in Tomtom to mean that it wasn't getting a signal from the device, when actually it meant no signal from the satellite cluster. The sign of a Tomtom newbie if ever there was one.
When I took it into work and left the receiver close to a window, it started working, albeit with a very weak and intermittant signal (ground floor office with a couple of floors above). I'm gonna try it out on the drive home, hopefully once I'm in my car the signal will be much better, if not I'll have to get an antenna to use with it.
