Hi,

Just tried to download speed camera database to my Go 500 but its telling me that the disk is full after 3 of the 4 files are copied. The ones that I copied ok are :-

pocketgps_uk_pmobile.ov2
pocketgps_uk_pmobile.bmp
pocketgps_uk_sc.bmp

but not pocketgps_uk_sc.ov2

Is there anything I can safely remove from the disk to create enough space or would it be better to copy only the pmobile or sc files?

Thanks (in advance)

Only things that it is safe to delete would be those things that you have put on. Wink

Doesn't the Go 500 do everything on an SD card (from the mapping point of view)? So the solution would be to buy a larger SD card, transfer the current card contents to the new card and try again. This would best be done by using a PC with card reader and making sure you set Windows up to display hidden files. His way you also get a backup copy of your card - which you should have just in case.

I think this is possible - I've done it a few times with TT Navigator (5 and 6) maps without issue. Any one care to comment?

Indeed it is possible. There's full instructions in the TomTom FAQs topic, which is a "sticky" at the top of the TomTom Go/Rider/One forum section (FAQ #8 IIRC).

You COULD try deleting some of the foreign navigation voices (from the preferences menu), to make a bit more room, but as the unit uses spare SD card space as virtual memory while working out routes, it would be best to do as suggested and get a bigger SD card. Also you get to keep the old one as another backup of the important stuff.
Get a known brand card from Sandisk or Kingston rather than the cheapest you can find. It needs to be "fast" speed (but not "ultra" and 2GB is the largest I'd recommend as most 4GB cards use a different technology which is incompatible.
